The object of Jacks or Better video poker is to attain the highest ranked poker hand. The payoff for each hand is displayed on the video poker machine face.

Let’sPlay!

To play Jacks or Better:

  1. Select a coin value.
  2. Click the coin slot, Bet One or Bet Max.
    • Click the coin slot, up to five times, until the number of coins displayed equals the amount you wish to bet.
    • Click Bet One, up to five times, until the number of coins displayed equals the amount you wish to bet.
    • Click Bet Max once to bet the maximum amount allowed.
  • Your hand is automatically
    dealt if you bet the maximum amount using any of the three methods listed above.
  1. To remove coins from the machine, you can click Cash Out to reset the bet prior to dealing cards.
  2. Click Deal and five cards appear face up on the screen.
  3. After the cards are dealt, you may choose to keep any of the cards by clicking Hold, found directly below the card, or by clicking directly on the card.
  4. After you have selected the cards you want to keep, click Deal and the remaining cards are exchanged for new cards.
    • After the second deal, your hand is assessed and winnings are paid out based on the rank of the resulting poker hand.

Rules

Jacks or Better video poker uses a one deck shoe that is reshuffled after each hand.

The
player places a bet before the cards are dealt and is allowed to
replace cards once before the hand is assessed for winning conditions.
Winnings are calculated automatically after replacement cards are dealt.

A pair of jacks is the lowest ranking poker hand that is considered a winning condition.

Jacks or Better video poker hands are valued based on the following
five-card ranking.

Royal Flush The highest hand in Jacks or Better video poker consists of the
following cards: 10, jack, queen, king, and an ace all of the same
suit.
H10 Jacks or Better HJ Jacks or Better HQ Jacks or Better HK Jacks or Better HA Jacks or Better
Straight Flush Five cards in sequence, all of the same suit S3 Jacks or Better S4 Jacks or Better S5 Jacks or Better S6 Jacks or Better S7 Jacks or Better
Four of a Kind Four cards of the same denomination, one in each suit D10 Jacks or Better S10 Jacks or Better H10 Jacks or Better C10 Jacks or Better D4 Jacks or Better

You Win!

A winning hand pays out according to the number of coins wagered and
their value.

  • If you select the $1 coin and then
    Bet Max, your wager will be 5 coins of $1 so therefore $5. If you get
    a Straight Flush then according to the payout schedule below you will
    win 250 coins with the same value as your original bet so therefore
    $250.

The
following payout schedule illustrates the number of coins to be won if
you bet 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 coins. The payout table is configurable and may
differ from the default shown here.
